Ulukundua Trail

Sound Trail of Ancestral Wisdom in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta — a living experience that invites you to walk with attention through the land's sacred landscapes.

A trail, not an attraction

“To walk the land, you must first listen to its soul.”

Ulukundua runs through La Tigra Reserve. Inspired by the ancestral knowledge system of the Sierra's indigenous peoples, it activates deep listening, respect for the Earth, and a reencounter with our common root. It's not consumer tourism or spectacle: it's encounter, learning, regeneration.

“We don't come to take, but to give back. We don't come to learn, but to remember.”

The six stations of the sound trail:

Creation

How the universe arose, from the vision of the Sierra's peoples.

Feminine and Masculine Energy

The balance between the two as the foundation of all harmony.

The Call

The sound of the mountain, the voice of the water, the echo of the jaguar.

Rituals and Payment

Giving so that everything continues: reciprocity with nature.

The Kogui Today

Today's challenges, and the call to the modern world.

The Law of Origin

The age-old principles that guide life and its balance with the Earth.

Experiences: a guided walk along the Sound Trail; a cacao experience, taking part in its transformation within La Tigra Reserve; and "Birding to Conserve," alongside the youth environmental-monitor club, in a citizen-science outing.

Visitor code of ethics

“The land is not covered in a hurry, it is honored with presence.” Co-created from the voice of the communities that guard this land.

1Listen first — to the mountain, the wind, the river, and to those who hold spiritual authority over this place.
2Don't take what hasn't been given to you — stones, seeds, stories or images all have an owner or a spirit.
3Respect sacred places — many aren't tourist sites, they're temples.
4Walk lightly — reduce your impact, avoid plastics, leave no trace.
5Take part with meaning — you're not a spectator, every experience regenerates.
6Recognize the guardians — the spiritual authority of the mamos and local leaders.
7Choose your words with care — avoid exoticizing or romanticizing; ask consent before publishing.
8The journey continues when you return home — carry the respect and the regeneration forward.
